Musée de la Maison du Jambon de Bayonne
(Arzacq Arraziguet)
On the Arzacq site, the Maison du Jambon de Bayonne has created a lively and tasty museum space, offering the public a millenary journey steeped in history. It allows you to immerse yourself in the culture, the identity of the pork industry in the South-West and its gastronomic flagship: Bayonne ham. The visitor discovers this story through a playful journey (frescoes, models, tools, games, panels, screens). The auditorium offers the public the screening of a film on Bayonne IGP ham.
Since 2020, a virtual reality room has allowed visitors to fully immerse themselves in our production workshops. Guided by the production manager, discover, as if you were there, the salting, resting and refining of Bayonne IGP ham.
At the end of the visit, a shop offers the opportunity to appreciate Bayonne ham and take away various souvenirs: pâtés, salting, cooked dishes, salt from Salies-de-Béarn…
